Mike Tomkiewicz began his public accounting career in
1985 with a regional firm in Denver, Colorado. In 1987,
he moved to Atlanta to join a mid-sized firm as a senior
staff accountant, and was promoted to partner in 1997. In
2004, he co-founded the public accounting firm Tomkiewicz
Wright, LLC.
His 20 years of experience is well diversified in servicing
privately held companies and non-profit entities in all
aspects of their business needs, including business succession,
mergers and acquisitions, tax planning and general financial
reporting consulting.
Mike received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting
from Indiana University and his Master of Business Administration
from The University of Colorado. He is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia
Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jim Wright began his public accounting career in 1988 with the audit staff of a national CPA firm, where he gained substantial experience with large distribution, non-profit and manufacturing organizations. In 1993, he joined a mid-size Atlanta firm as an audit supervisor and was promoted to partner in 1997. He headed the firm’s audit operations for four years, upgrading audit quality controls and training to national firm standards during his tenure. In 2004, he co-founded the public accounting firm of Tomkiewicz Wright, LLC. He works with organizations up to small publicly-held companies in size in primarily construction, non-profit, retail, and technology industries, in which he specializes in audit, financial accounting and reporting, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance services.
Prior to his CPA career, Jim was an active-duty Navy officer for seven years, specializing in logistics and serving throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Central America on Cold War and peacekeeping operations. While a CPA, Jim served an additional 15 years in the Naval Reserve, retiring from military service as a senior officer in 2001.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from Georgia State University. He is the founder and president of an non-profit land conservation organization, with operations in throughout the southeastern U.S. He also serves pro bono as treasurer for another non-profit land conservation organization. His affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
John S. Nelson, CPA

John Nelson began his public accounting career in 1994
with an Atlanta firm, where he specialized in audits of
federal financial assistance programs that included numerous
non-profit entities. He joined a mid-size Atlanta firm in
1997 as an audit senior, and was promoted to audit manager
in 2001. In this capacity, he managed a majority of the
firm’s substantial audit practice, including all significant
non-profit engagements, and was the firm’s designated
Quality Control Manager.
John received Bachelor of Science degrees in both finance
and accounting from East Tennessee State University. He
is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public
Accountants.
